2 Months!

Tomorrow Anna will be 10 weeks old - it doesn't even seem possible that it was 10 weeks ago. Time is just flying, yet, it's funny how it feels like Anna has always been with us in a way, because she completes us!

Poor Anna, I'm pretty sure I wont be able to keep up with a monthly post on her each month until her 1st birthday. I promise, I'll try, because I don't want to fall into the shes-the-second-child syndrome :) As it is this one is so late, and we're just getting started!

Anyway, a little update on our sweet baby girl.... the second month was a great one. For Anna, the second month, brought solid weight and height gains, smiles, lots of coos, and solid 9 or 10 hour stretches of sleep at night! God knows, the sleep could change, but for now she's getting really good stretches consistently at night. I swear, as she started sleeping more at night, she started to eat a little more, and got on a consistent routine during the day. At the same time, her cheeks filled out more, her eyelashes tripled overnight and she started to smile ALL the time. It all sort of happened at once, right around 6 weeks. As we hit the 8 week mark, we officially moved up to size 2 diapers, into all 6 month clothes (ahh!) and by the 9th week - size 2 nipples. Big changes all around!

Anna did great at her 8th week well visit.  She weighed 12 lbs 3 oz - 90th percentile, and was 23 inches long, also 90th percentile. I think her head was the 75th. She's just a fraction behind where Madelyn was at that point.  It's interesting, that so far anyway, she's growing very similarly to her big sister. Anna handled the shots like a champ.  She screamed, I mean really, really screamed, but the minute I could hold her, she stopped and cuddled up in my chest. She's really such a great baby, and loves to be cuddled or know we're close by. All I want to do, all.day.long is cuddle with her.  She might spend a little more time in her rock in play, or on the play mat than Madelyn did, just because sometimes I can have my hands full with M, but she just hangs, and is happy to do so. Such a sweetheart :)

The second month for all of us has been one of transition. The first month is always such a blur, so I expected that.  For our family, the second month was all about getting into more of a routine and sort of getting back to "normal". I was feeling great and therefore getting out much more, and doing more with both girls. We go on walks daily, trips to the park, errands, etc and I feel like we've got a good system down. I'm not going to lie, being on leave this time of year is really, really awesome! Considering it wasn't planned per se, I'm thrilled to have this time when it getting so nice and we can be out enjoying the weather together. Just a few more weeks to soak it all in with my girls... I'm hoping it doesn't go too fast.

Thanks to this cutie for bringing us so much joy - it's been a wonderful couple of months! We love you sweet Anna Banan!
