A special note...

To my amazing husband and best friend... we're almost there! It has been truly incredible, not only this experience but the last 5 years with you. I wouldn't trade one second of it all for anything in the world. All the laughs, ups and downs, late nights of fun, the occasional argument and the nice quiet nights at home, it all has been perfect! Pretty soon our life as we know it will change forever but I'm so happy about this life we've created, and I couldn't be more excited for the change.

I cherish the memories we've shared thus far, while single, dating, engaged and married - it's been the best time of my life and cheers to us as we create new memories as a family of 4 :)

Let's not forget the fun we've had and where we've come from....I love you!

VV Happy Hour at Crabshell - Summer 2006 (single, surprised?)

Late night dance party at the Le Grande apt - winter 2005 - also single :)

Springsteen - Hartford - Oct 2007- (finally) officially dating

6 weeks to go

At our last Dr. appointment Baby GG was measuring around 5lbs 4 oz but we know there is a good chance that could be +/- 12 oz from her actual weight. Regardless, she's healthy and doing well and I'm still feeling pretty good too! I'm looking forward to nesting in the next couple of weeks making all the final preparations for her arrival :)

Nursery progress!

We are thrilled with how our nursery is coming together. Last weekend we put together the crib and this past weekend we picked up our glider and my parents brought over the dresser. The dresser was orginally sent to my grandfather while he was at West Point and my parents passed it on to us for GG's room. Although my dad replaced the back, he was able to save and secure the date/name stamp of the delivery to the back of the piece. Then my mom sanded, primed and painted the piece white. The glider, a gift from Grandma and Grandpa Gerges is the MOST comfortable chair... ever! We both took turns hanging out in the chair for a while this weekend. There has certainly been a lot of love that has gone into the room and we're almost feeling ready for GG to be sleeping in there! Just need a mattress and clean sheets.... well some curtains, blinds and shelves too :) It's been an incredible journey and it's really hard to believe there are just 6 weeks until Baby GG's due date!!

Dear Baby...

You are still in the warmth and comfort of my belly and I hope you are happy in there. It's been a pretty good experience so far, wouldn't you say? Based on where your legs are and the fact that I have felt no discomfort or pain yet, the Dr. today told me I was lucky, that you were being very kind - so thank you :) Your Dad and I talk about you all the time... what you'll look like, if you'll act like one of us but most of all we just can't wait to shower you with kisses. I hope you like pink... we've created what we think is an adorable room just for you and we look forward to lots of quality time with you in there! Your big brother knows your coming too, and he can't wait to meet you either... I think he'll be your best friend and he'll definitely protect you.

I heard this song on the radio a few months ago and it instantly brought me to tears.... maybe it's the hormones (probable) but there's something so real and relevant about the message. As we get ready for your arrival, I hope you know how much we love you already, and we can't wait to show you the world! May God continue to bless us always, and may you stay forever young ~

May God bless and keep you always
May your wishes all come true
May you always do for others
And let others do for you
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung
May you stay forever young
Forever young, forever young
May you stay forever young.

May you grow up to be righteous

May you grow up to be true
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you
May you always be courageous
Stand upright and be strong
May you stay forever young
Forever young, forever young
May you stay forever young.

May your hands always be busy

May your feet always be swift
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift
May your heart always be joyful
And may your song always be sung
May you stay forever young
Forever young, forever young
May you stay forever young.

labor day!

We made the most of this 4 day weekend at home and got a lot done around the house! Brian was going to be gone from Saturday afternoon to Monday night as he was driving out to Ohio for a friends wedding. Before he left though we were able to do a few big things - put together the crib and paint and hang the new shutters! I'm going to hold off on another nursery picture until we get our glider, which we should have in the next week or two! I know Brian thinks I'm crazy, but I was really looking forward to replacing the shutters and I'm thrilled with the results! Bye-bye squirrels!

After Brian left, Quigs and I held down the fort. I treated myself to a great pedicure, visited with my family, and then proceeded to clean our house and yard from top to bottom. I don't think I'll be doing that again until sometime after the baby comes, I'm exhausted. Might have to arrange for the cleaning lady to come in a few weeks :) But the place looks great and that always feels good.  Now Quigs and I are just hanging, waiting for Brian to get home! Hope you all had a great holiday weekend with family and friends!
